Advising and Enrollment
Advising
The School of Engineering's Dean's Office processes applications for
admission to the bachelor of science civil engineering program. The
School of Architecture and Urban Planning process all applications for
admission to the bachelor of science architectural engineering
program. Once admitted, a student will be advised each semester by
a faculty member in the Department of Civil, Environmental and
Architectural Engineering. The School of Engineering will keep track
of academic progress, and will ultimately perform a final degree
requirement check before your scheduled graduation.
The adviser, as well as the other faculty in the department, will be
available on the Lawrence Campus. Through class time, office hours,
formal meetings, informal discussions, and laboratory work, a
student will have many contact hours with KU CEAE professors.
Enrollment
Each semester after you meet with your adviser, you will submit
your advising form to Carol Jo Sloan, in 2150 Learned Hall, to have
your advising hold released. This release is required for you to
enroll online for the next semester or summer session.
Go to the KU Portal and click
on the Enroll and Pay link to find
your assigned enrollment time. Also check to see if you have any
additional holds that you need to take care of before enrolling.
When the date comes for your enrollment, go to Enroll & Pay and sign up for your
courses.
For additional information on enrollment, go to http://www.registrar.ku.edu/timetable/.
Full and Part-Time Study
Full-time study is encouraged, if possible, but some engineering
students complete their degree requirements part-time. Many
students have part to full-time employment on or off campus.
